Was looking into ordering a PSVR 2 to replace my Rift S and Quest 2, and it seems it has been a Playstation Direct exclusive since releasing on Feb 22. Just wondering if anyone here works retail (Gamestop, Best Buy, etc) and got any info on when we can expect them in stores? I have a lot of package thieves in my area so whenever I can, I prefer to buy an item at a retailer.

Lots of people do PO Boxes to avoid package thieves.

Unfortunately lots of companies ship via UPS or FedEx, which don't deliver to PO Boxes. Sometimes they ship with USPS and just refuse to ship to PO Boxes anyway.

If you want to go the PO Box route, check with your PO before opening one. Many POs will accept UPS/FedEx on behalf of box holders; you'd just need to use the PO's physical address with unit XX on the second line.

Ah, right. Sony is definitely FedEx or Ups as I've ordered from there. Maybe deliver it to work or somewhere else?

When I ordered my PSVR2 directly from Sony, it was delivered via UPS and was supposed to have signature confirmation (according to the instructions when my order was confirmed), but they didn't ask for a signature (even though I was there). From what I've seen on Reddit on the PSVR thread, people in the U.S. have mostly reported that their package was just dropped off without anyone trying to get a signature.

I was lucky enough to order two PS5s during the first 2 weeks of launch. First one mysteriously vanished from FedEx as it was out for delivery. The second one had delivery confirmation and was left outside, the driver signed his own name for it. Finally got lucky with the third one I managed to order. I have no issues waiting a few more weeks for PSVR2 to buy it in a store. I can pick one up in Delaware and skip sales tax, which is another plus. I was just curious if anyone had any inside information, as I'm not finding anything online.

When I bought my PlayStation 5 last summer (not from Sony but from a user here) we agreed I'd pay a little extra so the delivery dude would need my signature. That didn't happen. I left the living room window open and watched as he just plopped the box on the front steps and walked away. He didn't knock on the door or anything. They are charging extra for something they don't care enough to enforce.

You can also sign up with My Choice and divert your package to a UPS Store (or rent a mailbox there, our PO boxes accept all carriers but tend to run more than the post office.) to avoid package thieves. There's a charge for it, but well worth it if you're worried.

A lot of drivers are hesitant to collect signatures and only are enforcing it now due to covid. They got used to not needing it or taking a "spoken" signature only. 99% weren't concerned about covid, they just don't wanna deal with people.
