I’ve had multiple preorders from Target arrive a week or more late. In July, I preordered Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. It came out on December 1st. A month and a half later, I still haven’t gotten it yet, and I just got an e-mail about approving yet another delay until January 19th.

I've had a couple of preorders like that at my local gamestop. One of them after a couple weeks they just called another store and sent someone over there to grab it for me.

The team at my local store are great people. Just the corporate policies that suck. If it wasn't literally a 5 minute walk from where I live, I would probably shop exclusively online at other stores.

I've stopped bothering with preorders... like literally I've seen a few games I want to get that has some rather nice preorder bundles... I go to preorder, and I keep getting "sold out" messages... It seems worse for Gamestop too... get an email that says "Preorder now," and immediately after getting it, I go to the site to preorder... already sold out... starting to think for Gamestop if you want specific preorders you gotta do it in person.. which is b.s cause then why even bother telling you to preorder online? Then there was the one time I literally went in the store to preorder and they're like "Yeah, you have to preorder that one like last week/month." and I'm like "but I just got the email telling me to preorder."

I pre-order through Amazon. Never had an issue

My biggest issue with Amazon is receiving damaged games because they use the absolute flimsiest packaging possible. I once received a brand new switch game where the case was practically folded in half.

If they had a "prime but we always ship in a box" option I would probably be a paid subscriber.
