Welp, they finally revealed the Archie Comics TMNT figures that I'd need to snag to complete my run.

-The 4 turtles in their Archie wrestling outfits
-Bellybomb + Krang
-Mondo Gecko

Being a big wrestling fan, part of me is excited for the turtles, but I was really hoping for standard looking turtles for this line. I dig the designs enough (except Donnie, that one's boring), Mikey and Raph especially are cool, but I almost always prefer the standard looks. At this point, I may just snag the standard turtles from the animated line considering the Archie comics turtles look pretty much exactly the same (that may even be why they chose wrestlers for this line). Mondo is a Mutanimal like the other 4 that are already released, so he may be the first one I go for. But that Bellybomb figure + the Krang accessory is a must-have too. Classic 90s toy vibe.

Not the best quality figure at all… in fact, it’s pretty bad. Flimsy removable hands and whatnot, real crappy stand. BUT it’s perfect for what I’m using it for: display purposes! Love Invincible and Omni-Man is probably my favorite character, plus I had a gift card leftover from my birthday, so figured “what the heck” and grabbed it.

I do love that the baseball glove hand was included. At this point, that’s an iconic scene from the comics.

@kevolones It’s Diamond Select Toys. It LOOKS good for sure, which is why I’m cool using it for display, but the quality of the hands is pretty bad. Very loose and wiggly, and the plastic itself feels a lot thinner than something like a NECA figure. The default hand it comes with just fell right off when I opened it, having never touched it before. The pegs seem suspect.

Then there’s the issue of paint scraping off a bit around the knee and ankle joints. I also feel like he’s hunched over more than he should be, like his neck is jutting out a bit too much (see the photo below). Doesn’t really reflect the broad-shouldered stature of the character himself. Just little issues that you wouldn’t see from some of the higher-caliber figure companies.

@nonamesleft The baseball isn’t removable but you can switch hands and whatnot. The Invincible figure comes with another baseball mitt hand and I think a baseball accessory with a flame hanging off the back to make it look like it was thrown by a superhuman haha. Honestly it’s the baseball stuff that made me want the figures in the first place. Love that scene in the comics/cartoon so I thought it was real smart to include it with the figure.

And yes, everyone should play Pikmin 4.

Anyhow, buddy snagged me ol’ Toxie for my birthday this year. Still on the fence on whether I want to take him out of the packaging, but gosh darn does this figure rule.

@nonamesleft it comes with the character named Invincible’s figure (son of Omni-man). Guess it’s less of a flame and more of just a “fast throw” effect haha

Normally I stick to buying figures from series or games I like. I dont usually buy random figures but I had to get this! Very cool character and solid figure overall. I even ventured took it to the backyard for a quick try on toy photography.

New figure Friday

The Jada Toys Street Fighter figures are really nice quality. A lot of articulation. A little disappointed they don't come with a stand for balancing issues.
Kamek went on sale for $4.98 on Amazon, couldn't pass it.

I have a large box of old toys from the 70's, 80's and early 90's. Star Wars, He-man, GI Joe, Transformers, TMNT, etc. We had a few Mask as well, but not sure if those survived. Bad thing is we played the hell out of those toys, and a lot of it is worn, broken or missing pieces. I remember hearing the first time some of these toys were worth in the $100 range. Our Optimus Prime was missing a leg among other damage. We had fun. My kids have shown some interest, but they don't have the attention span we did. Most of them have been put back in storage.

In the winter time we'd take our Star Wars and GI Joe outside, build miniature snow forts out of (shock) snow and have hoth-like battles (minus the expensive vehicles). I can remember using the old tin bandaid boxes with a hinged lid as vehicles, coffins and carbonite... had to be creative as an 80's middle class family child. lol

We would have gi joe wars with hairspray and lighters. Wrap the figures in tape like mummies and bury them in cinder block crypts. Bad boys.
