When I tried to use the system here years ago all it did for me was lead to annoying and bad offers so I gave up on it. I just make threads when I have stuff to move and pm people based on threads where I know they are actively wanting something. Like you said with a wanted list it's easy to just add things to it even lower wants. Someone could then forget stuff is even on there, fail to remove things once they get them etc... A lot of variables that make these list systems a bad idea for trying to just cold offer based on them.
It does work for some people though, and it's always interesting to see transactions that were made seemingly purely through the offer system without a thread involved. Not how I like to operate but clearly it works for some people.
