26-Sep-2023(#3)When I saw the title I was excited but I'm pretty disappointed by the look on these. I was hoping for an atomic purple style transparent case but these look flimsy and plasticky in a way that is a turnoff. Plus something about using transparent buttons comes off as cheap.
I'm sure this will still sell out in about 12 seconds but it's not for me.

26-Sep-2023(#9)Oh yeah the OG GBA form factor would be in instabuy - especially if it was sold in Glacier.
Also if they released the GameCube's Indigo or Spice Orange i'd be interested as well. These translucent ones look like someone bought a transparent shell off of AliBaba.

27-Sep-2023(#18)@Lunar You don't think they are actually selling out of the units?

Now I understand why this recent rush to produce LE systems has you upset.
I fully agree with you then.

* 27-Sep-2023(#21)Idk who feels worse, the people who bought black/white Pockets that just got theirs after waiting years and saw glow in the dark limited units sold that ship in two weeks, or the people who bought into the glow in the dark unit only to see color-fun translucent models being offered not even two months after they just bought into the last gimmick. Or people who are still waiting on crap they ordered in 2021 throwing their arms up in the air at this crap in general.
This is definitely a company. Only reason they haven't gone bankrupt is squeezing all these LE units in to fund their backorders. Also how many times you fudgein dummies gonna buy the same gosh darn FPGA crap slapped in a new plastic case?

I suspect there is more than a little truth to that. Like companies who use future kickstarters to cover fulfillment costs from their prior ones because they were bad at money management. And the cycle repeats until it falls apart.
With this, though, now that "chip shortage" isn't the first thing out of every tech company's PR hole, it could be that they have finally gotten production to a point where they are cost effective to mass produce, so their profit margins on the base systems are probably pretty good.
The accessories and cart adapters on the other hand maybe not as much.

I don't think most people are buying more than one (not to keep anyway).
Does anyone here have multiple orders for multiple flavors that you just couldn't live without?
People didn't even do that with the fruit flavored N64 variants back in the day - it wasn't until n64 got cheap thst they started to collect variant systems and then it got uncheap again.

* 27-Sep-2023(#23)Oh, I mean in general. Analogue NT Mini, Super NT, Mega SG, other than having a screen and a separate FPGA chip even the Pocket's the same fudging thing. That said, I've certainly seen more than one person on Twitter being like "I don't need a third Pocket, I don't need a third pocket..." So even completely literally, there are dummies like that out there.
It's unbelievable how crap these guys have been at scaling. They have to keep crap canning products that they purposely made to be sustainable because they cannot scale to save their lives, and there's STILL nothing in their fudging store to buy, several years into this. It's still this exotic "Ooooh can I get it, I hope I get it, I hope I don't miss out, you might say I'm fearful on missing out, I mean they limit it to ONLY TWO UNITS PER SALE!" ugh. Cut my wrist into pieces.

There's a timeline where Analogue cancels all Duo pre-orders, but instead of refunding everybody, they send them a white/black and purple Pocket.
Then, they change their company name to Pocket.
Pocket Pocket, now available in beige. Highly limited quantities. Pre-order soon.
Pocket Pocket 2: Pocket Boogaloo, now with oversized battery pack and worm light. Ships 2027.

28-Sep-2023(#29)I was gonna say, if they didn't say a HuCard adapter was possible when they sold this thing to you, you got scammed
Course, if it never comes out, you got scammed anyways
