Ive heard horror stories of buying used or "refurbished" consoles at Gamestop.
I wanted to buy a NEW Xbox X before MS ups the price like they said they would.

Anyone have any experiences? I have a buttload of GS Credit and lots of points to reward for certificates, so i'd prefer to buy from GS, but they never have new consoles in stock.
Dell had new consoles for $429 and then $449 2 days ago and i slept on it and they're OOS now.
Any help and guidance would be appreciated, thanks guys.

TronicsFix made a whole video on GS refurbished for the Series X: https://youtu.be/u1wysruBwMs

Based upon his past videos on GS refurbs, it's kind of a mixed bag.

Screw buying a refurbished system from GameStop. I wouldn't trust them at all in that regard. Buy @Dagreatcam system he's selling and used all that credit and points to get yourself some games, couple years of Xbox game pass ultimate, and controllers.

I know you mentioned warranty but who knows how long GameStop's going to be around. Sometimes I think it's going to be any day now that they declare bankruptcy and start shutting down all the stores.... While I suppose they could just as easily keep going for a few more years.

One things for sure, use those points and spend that credit cuz you don't want to be stuck holding it with no store to shop at.

That's why i'm trying to use the credit. They changed the Power Up Pro Rewards system already, i got grandfathered in this year, i want to use and stack all my Pro Points with one big purchase, accrue more Pro Points with that big purchase and then use up all my points and not re subscribe.
I don't think Gamestop is going anywhere at the moment, they're the only store of its kind that appeals to the masses and they keep buying up smaller Mom and Pop chains and they're pushing toys and gifts because toy stores don't exist anymore.
So i think Gamestop is good in a physical presence for at least 10 more years.

Just know that you can only use one dollar denomination per transaction. So for example, You can't use four $25 GameStop coupons on one purchase You could only use one. You can stack a $5, $10, $25, etc. But only one of each. I think someone also said that they removed the $50 coupon that you can purchase as well. So you may not be looking at a whole lot off of a system. Hope that makes sense.

I think in its heyday the most you could get off on one purchase was $90.... You accomplished this by stacking a $50, $25, $10, and a $5.

That's very true. The only thing you can use on POSA cards is your $5 monthly coupon. Any coupons you redeem with points can only go towards physical merchandise. GameStop loves to screw over their customers.... Wait they've been doing that since Funcoland days. Lol.

It's just a shame that boomerangs / game flips all went away after COVID. Ugh.
