Wouldn't mind knowing if its possible to get it cheaper still myself. I ended up renewing when they were having a discount on ps4 for $45 for base tier.
Just a heads up, Extra (the 2nd/middle tier) seems to be almost as good as Premium, unless you like the classic library (underwhelming IMO but check the list and see for yourself), free game trials for new games, and ability to stream games rather than download them
I have Premium and will continue to have it because of my FOMO, but realistically if I had Extra I’d use it almost exactly the same way, and it’d be cheaper
If you buy the base tier you can upgrade to the others by paying the difference. So if you can find a deal on the basic PS+ you can save some money there. But I haven't seen any deals for the higher tiers besides when Sony had them at a discount during the holidays for people who never had a Sony account before.
The PS+ Collection games are free for any tier and will go away in May I think. So def grab those titles with at least the basic tier soon.
The most common code cards were for the Essential tier. There were also PSNow cards that count for the Extra tier but those are quite rare now. Once you are in a higher tier then the lower cards will convert equivalent to their value. I don't think either are still available at retail anymore.
