If you were enjoying it I suggest maybe taking another look. They've implemented some new changes and features that definitely help with the grind. Don't get me wrong I won't sugar coat it, the game is defiinitely a Gacha format bit of a grind/gamble especially if you want to stay completely F2P but it is possible.
They've been having some really good collectors token bundle lately that you can guy with Gold which is an in game currency you can collect for free and in the shop you're now able to pin Cards that you want until you have enough collectors tokens saved to buy it.
Like, for instance I was just able to buy Shuri which is a Series 4 card so it was 3000 tokens, but it's definitely one of the top "meta" cards at the moment. With a 1/40 shot at pulling her from a crate it was nice to be able to pin her in the shop until I had saved enough tokens.
