Snapped is the only one I have not played. Funnily enough, I went to play Snapped just last night, but I was in bed and apparently that game wants you to place the console on a flat surface and do things in front of the camera which I did not want to do at 11:15 pm.

I don't remember much about Snapped, but I do remember it being frustrating trying to get it to work correctly.

It's been awhile since I've played a Warioware game. I think Warioware Twisted
was the last one I played. Is smooth moves similar to Twisted?

Twisted is quite good as well. Yeah they're pretty similar, the main difference just being Twisted being based around tilt controls, and Smooth Moves being based around ways to move/handle the Wiimote.

You really need to give it another shot, and go further this time. There's really not much to love yet if you've only played up to the town fair (aside from the music). The game immediately picks up after the fair though, and should suck you in.

TotK runs fine. As do all first party games unless you are put off by very minor issues.

It's interesting that you think Nintendo will optimize switch games for the successor system. If they do backwards compatibility it will probably be just how they have done it before... straight bc with no upgrades and no frills.
They might release a remastered version though, I suppose.
Anxiouz
* 1-Dec(#34)I don't think Nintendo will be concerned at all with Switch games running better on the next system. Just running like they do on Switch now is probably what they will shoot for. No frills BC.
Historically they haven't had hardware improve BC, just play it as-is. And I think they even bothered just because of MS forcing their hand a little bit (as well as Sony's).

Speak for yourself, I still play janky ps1/saturn games
PizzaTheHutt
2-Dec(#37)I don't think it makes anyone "spoiled" to expect more from a port of a near 9 year old game. It's unplayable for other reasons too, like the glitches and crashing. Keep in mind that's mainly Arkham Knight, but the other two games included seem to run decently (as they should, being from 2 console generations ago).
The Switch hardware is old, that's no surprise to anyone. But that can't always be used as an excuse. When a developer puts the time and effort into a Switch port, it is capable of running games like DOOM (2016), DOOM Eternal, Hogwarts Legacy, etc. and those aren't 9 years old. Yes, the Switch versions are not the ideal way to play any of those games, but they are competent ports that put this one to shame. This is not how Arkham Knight's original dev team wanted you to experience their game.

Yes! You owe it to yourself to at least get past the fair :) the game holds up SO well too. Games still try to mimic it and fall short

Oh, please don't misunderstand me. I 100% agree with you. The game should run better. The Switch can certainly handle it, and the devs should be ashamed of themselves putting out such an unfinished product.
I'm simply saying that calling it "unplayable" is a bit of a stretch. I mean, the dude literally posted a video of him playing the game and completing the challenge while calling it unplayable.

I would blame the publisher instead of the devs, honestly. 'Gotta ship for the holidays' plus the 'we can patch it later' mindset, mix in a fairly small budget (these are just ports of games that are 8+ years old, not developing new games from the ground up) and farm the port out to some off-brand studio instead of having Rocksteady do it and there you go.

Agreed. Look at this footage and say you'd be fine playing the game in this state. It's not even HD (540p in handheld) and still runs this poorly? And you can't even save $20 by just buying the other two games separately, you
have to buy them bundled with this turd too, which keeps the price at $60. Hopefully they fix it with patches eventually, but in its current state I'd probably rank this up there with Saints Row 2 on PC or DOOM on 3DO which are two other infamously bad ports.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVPPOoTcr_E KCPenguins
* 5-Dec(#48)So from what I saw in that state it's mostly playable save a few crashes as someone who grew up in the NES era. To my knowledge there are no patches. Seems like par for the course with modern games, granted this is a port.
Anxiouz
5-Dec(#49)I mean, anything is playable if it doesn't crash. I think saying it's unplayable nowadays just means it's so distracting and/or feels so bad that it isn't worth trying.
We are in a generation of having both 30fps and 60fps options in games. If a game is only 30fps on a console and can't hit that reliably, the game was rushed out the door. Sure they might be able to patch it (they needed to on X1/PS4) but I personally can't play a game that doesn't have a consistent 30fps at least.

I prefer Miles Morales’ combat to any I’ve played in Arkham — and that’s not to say it’s bad by any means, I still enjoy that aspect of those games.
It’s hard for me to really nail down what irks me about them. It’s not the open world aspect because I usually love open world stuff. I think it’s the story, how it treats certain characters, and the obnoxiously grimdark tone and design for Gotham. I’d vastly prefer an open world Batman game more along the lines of Scott (not Zack) Snyder’s take on Batman. It can be dark but doesn’t beat you over the head with it, and has some sense of levity outside of just Joker’s morbid comedy. The Arkham games just feel a little too over the top for me I guess.
Still want to trudge through at least City and maybe Knight someday though. Maybe my opinion will change eventually.

I'm really excited to play this game. My son and I are both getting it for Christmas and are going to play it at the same time.
