Let's make it happen people. Bring your 3DS with you wherever you go and post if you get a Streetpass from somewhere unexpected. (If you have multiple 3ds systems we don't necessarily need to hear about you streetpassing yourself).

What are your favorite Streetpass Mii Plaza games?

And what about other Streetpass enabled games?

I got a few StreetPasses at the grocery store this year. Maybe two total. The guy didn’t provide too much assistance in my games, as expected from a level 1 SP.

I will always love Find Mii II. It’s unironically in my top-ten 3DS games for all the positive memories it’s brought me over the years. I’d drive to GameStop after school every Friday to SP the demo 3DS they had on display, so I could create specific Miis with ideal shirt colors, then SP enough times to get them to the max level (7). That’s why I have a dream team ready to go should I ever replay it… but doing so would delete my data from years ago, so I can’t bring myself to do it.

The branching paths, the team combos and potions, the epic music, the hat reward, the creatively-designed enemies… it encouraged me to optimize my runs as much as possible, getting as much done as I could with 100 or so Play Coins. How many Thanksgivings, Christmases, and Easters were spent walking around an oval dinner table, chatting with my cousin? Then we’d change the date on our devices to earn more coins, and repeat until we had a stockpile of cash, and see how far we could each get on our quests. It’s moments like these that can never truly be recaptured, as we don’t really devote time to that anymore.

Oh, and Monster Manor and Ultimate Angler are good, too.

As far as other games with Streetpass functionality, Fantasy Life was a huge benefit. You could gift items to other players (and you wouldn't lose it yourself). So if you coordinate with a friend who also has the game, you can pass rare materials back and forth and save yourself lots of grinding.

I think Super Street Fighter IV had figurines that would battle each other? I never got really into it (due to the main game not having ideal controls on the system i didn't play it much) but I thought ithe figurine stuff was pretty great at the time.

Tomodachi Life's Streetpass and Spotpass stuff was pretty cool too. You would send out residents by Streetpass to travel, and they would go from person to person and occasionally write home via spotpass. For the visitors that came to your island, you could get exclusive fashions and food items.

Fire Emblem Awakening allowed you to send your ideal team to others via StreetPass. You could then buy items from their shop or fight their team (CPU controlled) to assert dominance. That was kinda fun.

A Link Between Worlds let you fight StreetPassed players (CPU controlled) who use whatever items the player equipped them with. It even plays a fantastic remix of the Zelda II Temple theme, since the CPU is a Dark Link.

Ok time for some expanded thoughts

> Mii Force
It's no secret I like shmups. And while this may not be the best one ever made, it's competent, and the idea of collecting and arranging Miis to outfit your ship is pretty cool. Some weapons are more useful than others, but even the less useful weapons often have a place where they shine.

I like that you don't have to do the whole game in one sitting (except in the one mode where you do, but I've never finished that one).

> Monster Manor
A good mix of a dungeon crawl and exploration game. It's most fun when you meet another mii after setting sown a tile and then you get a puzzle or they team up with you.

> Market Crashers
I am surprised how much I ended up liking this one. Just a simple stock game, but the frantic pace and the fun collectibles (based on other streetpass games) keep me coming back.

> Slot Car Rivals
I wish some of the courses were just a tad more forgiving but I would play an entire retail game based on this concept. The biggest downside is that the races are so short, and you only get one* per session.

or sometimes two if the final boss challenges you

> Puzzle Swap
Dumb simple fun. Back before all the paid games came out it was just this and Find Mii. It was always fun at conventions to see how many pieces you could get. And the more you got, the more it helped everyone else too!

Was very disappointed when they started implementing the pink pieces that you couldn't get by spending play coins. Because then you always had to check every person's puzzles for pink pieces you didn't have so you could get them while you could.

> Flower Town
This one probably ended up being the biggest pleasant surprise for me. It looked and sounded dumb (grow flowers, woo) but I ended up playing it a lot. Of course the collect em all aspect hit once you get a couple special flowers and you want to see what else they came up with. And then when you plant a seed with a 12% chance of growing a new breed and it actually does it, it's a great feeling. flower shop requests added some longevity too.

> Ultimate Angler
It's a fishing game. Pretty decent, although thr enjoyment really depends on the miis you meet. If you get the right color bait for the area you go to, it's pretty fun. But if you have a lot of bat that no fish wants it isn't as fun to pull up cans and boots.

> Battleground Z
This came out pretty much at the height of zombie everything and I was just sick to death of zombies (and mostly still am).

Besides the zombie thing it's not a bad little action game. I would like it better with almost any other theme.

> Find Mii / Find Mii II
It's fine but I don't like the parts where you basically hit a roadblock unless you have the exact right color mii.

Find Mii II alleviates that by allowing you to have the "helper hare" take care of those situations for a few play coins, but I would rather not have those situations in there at all.

Getting all those hats was fun though.

> Warrior's Way
It's a rock paper scissors based world conquest game! And you can spend play coins to know exactly what your opponent will choose, making it trivially easy.

But it's still kinda fun to see your army grow.

The final battle isn't so much fun because it is basically a best of 5 rock paper scissors match with no hints. Just random luck. Which really should NEVER be the only way to beat a final boss.

> Ninja Launcher
A bit of fun if you have a lot of streetpasses. Not great with just a few. You can use play coins of course, but it's such a short game (line up your miis and take one shot), you can burn through them real quick if you want to play for even a few minutes.

> Mii Trek
A game based solely on the number of steps taken by people you streetpass with. You pick paths to go down and occasionally interact with things. It's not great.

> Feed Mii
Another one that really depends on getting a large variety of miis. Each color gets you a specific ingredient and then you have to combine them to make a dish for the Heroes. This one didn't click at all with me. Although it is a Nintendo touch to see that the Heroes are basically following the Find Mii path.

I was playing Ultimate Angler on vacation last year, so I was in just the right mood to fish virtually. The music was perfectly soothing. The fishing had fun mechanics. The shopkeeper, Coraline, was cute for a Mii. You can fish up the Loch Ness Monster! This game has everything! What could go wrong?

Aside from the bait issue you mentioned, which is kind of annoying, the real trouble comes when you beat the main islands. There are two islands that require a silver permit to enter, and one island that requires a gold permit. You need to buy either permit every time you want to fish there, and they’re pricey. 20 Play Coins for silver, 50 for gold! This made those islands grueling to complete. Then there are StreetPass-only fish. They don’t explain how it works, but there are some fish that can’t be caught unless you StreetPass someone. Is it like pink tiles in Puzzle Swap, where the SP’d person has to have that creature Fitbit to work? Do they just unlock the creature for you to fish up at any time? Do they assist you directly in landing the creature, so you need them to be in your party to get it? I have no idea how it was supposed to work.

Still a chill game with a great soundtrack and highly detailed fish models.

I didn't know you could buy the permits. I always thought you just had to streetpass someone from a different region (or different country for the gold ticket).

Which isn't too hard for me now anyway since I have some international 3ds systems and set the location to those regions

I kinda liked the fishing game, the slot-car game and the zombie game, but I don't know if I ever finished them before Nintendo killed off the relay feature so you could StreetPass from home. The only other time I'd get legit StreetPasses was usually at McDonalds or when one of my nephews visited. If it wasn't for the HomePass thing, buying those extra StreetPass games would have been a waste of money.

My favorites are Puzzle Swap (good luck getting that music out of your head now), Monster Manor, Find Mii II, and Mii Force. Market Crashers is also growing on me.

benstylus and I used to help run a local StreetPass group, StreetPass Evansville, with the mission of "bringing the Tri-State closer together... one Mii at a time". It never really took off, but we did have fun sharing our games. StreetPass Evansville was more or less folded in to OMG!Con.

Just beat Streetpass Trader (UK version of Market Crashers) on my European 3DS.

Now to get to 10 billion gold!
