How do you guys like your switch lites? Had some health problems that kept me out of work recently and got rid of my switch but it’s kind of messing up my routines and now that I’m more back in the swing of things I was thinking about picking up a used switch light just to get in my gaming on cheap. Doesn’t seem worth getting a new OLED with the switch version 2 seemingly on the horizon, and 99% of the time I played my switch was in handheld anyway. Curious to know what everyone’s experience was with theirs.

I really love the Switch Lite. I never use mine because of Nintendo's primary console thing, but it feels so much better to hold than a regular Switch. The smaller (not worse, but smaller) screen can make games designed with a big screen in mind a little hard to see (like text or small environmental gameplay details), but if you're just looking for a cheap Switch only for handheld play, I think they're great buys.

I like the Switch Lite. The weight is very good. Easy to pick up and play.

The regular switch isn't heavy, but the Lite is even lighter.

It can actually fit in a pants pocket, which is great. Let's say you're carrying a few things and want to take the lite with you (even to a short distance away), you can just put it in your pocket. I'd say be mindful with the control sticks though, that they don't snag on the opening of your pocket.

The speakers work fine, but there's also a headphone jack, which is awesome. You can plug that into better speakers if you want. I've done that and was amazed at the sounds I was hearing.

After I got the switch lite, I find that I use it more often than the non lite. And not even on the go. I can be at home and I'll take up the lite more often than the non lite.

I have sometimes connected a pro controller to the lite, because I find that to be a bit more comfortable, but the switch lite is still pretty comfortable on its own.

I don't know what else to add, but I'm happy to answer specific questions about the lite if you have any.

My kids both have a Switch Lite. I really like the size/weight, it just feels so much better to hold and play than the regular Switch models. The display is a huge step down though. Not so much the size, it's still plenty big. It's the quality that I don't like. Even comparing to the non-OLED models, it looks much worse. If they put out a Switch Lite with a nice screen, I'd probably switch to it (no pun intended).

Appreciate all the feedback guys. Seems like a relatively inexpensive way to be able to game again. I have probably like 9-10 games and I’m Nintendo online member so between all my games and the retro console apps it’s more than plenty to keep my occupied. Seen a couple listed on here for a hundred and change may pick one up in a few weeks.

Specs claim the Lite and normal both display 720p in portable, just overall quality is noticeable?

All Switches, even the OLED, are 720p displays. The screen on the Lite is definitely comparable to the non-OLED Switch. The Lite's screen is slightly smaller though, 5.5" to 6.2" on the non-OLED Switch, 7.0" on the OLED.

I had the Pokémon blue n pink Switch Lite, it was great, played a lot of Animal Crossing on it. Pro: The D Pad is the best part to me. Con: Battery life was not as good as the full size switch.
