Yup, this has been an issue for me personally. I would love to just make multiple smaller 1-3 minute videos discussing one game. Instead, I do my "Frank's Five" series and talk about 5 different games with a central theme.
I feel like the era of short videos was back when YouTube was still more of a niche thing. Now that YouTube has really blown up in the mainstream, I feel like they want longer content to directly compete with TV/Streaming.
I find myself watching a mix of shorter and longer videos, but I typically avoid long videos from channels I'm not as familiar with. Where-as I like shorter videos to get bite-sized bits of different creators' styles.
