Hey so I’m loving this game and don’t want to throw in the towel but man the difficulty spikes are rough. I just got my butt handed to me at the end of chapter 9’s boss fight and it took me like 20 tries to finally beat them. Anyone know of any tips outside of grinding to make it a little more manageable? I hear it only gets worse from here on out which is off putting to me and a shame since I’d hate to quit it but may have to if I hit a brick wall and have to grind out levels which I’m not a fan of.

Does it have an easy mode? I'd rather play on easy and have fun vs. playing on a more difficult mode and break my controller in rage!

I remember one of the last bosses is frustratingly difficult. I remember having to grind the side game for awhile. It's been awhile since I played it.

No easy mode and I’m the same way before I break a controller I may just put this one down and sell it. Sad to say since I love the yakuza series. I hope the next one isn’t turn based or at least has an easy mode.

That’s what I was afraid of. I may not want to grind tho. I did a few floors in one of the dungeons and it wasn’t as fun as I expected it to be.

All of the games with Ichiban as the protagonist are going to be turn based. The traditional beat-em-up gameplay is reserved for the Judgment series from here on.

Quote from Toshihiro Nagoshi, the series creator -- “The Yakuza series has been transformed into a turn-based RPG. On the other hand, over the year, Ryu ga Gotoku Studio has accumulated resources and know-how of making flashy and exhilarating action games that are effortless to enjoy. We decided that we should let our signature action gameplay live on through Lost Judgement.”

So assuming I'm interpreting that correctly, Yakuza is going full-on turn based JRPG whereas Judgment is going to keep the traditional gameplay.

I just hope they offer an easy mode in the next Like a Dragon game then for folks who want to take it easy and want lite turn based difficulty while focusing on the story at hand.

If I'm remembering correctly, there's only one boss fight after the two I think you're talking about that gave me any trouble - the rest aren't that bad. With regards to that one boss fight I can give you some advice - he'll never hit a woman as long as there's still man standing. That's how I cheesed the fight.

Thanks guys. I managed to do chapter 10 with no issues. It was in chapter 9 that was a chore when I was down a party member but now that I have 4 again it’s much more manageable especially since I’m getting much more XP now per fight. In chapter 12 the one boss is level 50 tho and I’m on chapter 11 now and only level 33 so I may have to utilize the battle dungeon in chapter 12 to grab some extra levels.
