I don’t recall platforming in Dragon’s Crown, but the art style seems close.

It's a game released in the past 5 years. Can't say it's super popular. Linear Action-platformer. Lots of the negative Steam reviews are from people who played for a half hour and deemed it "too hard/unfair". Developed by two people.

Now you have my attention. Sadly, it's very possible I own it or have it on my wish list but don't recognize it.

Its kinda fun for a while, but gets repetitive. You just use up, down, left, right to move all the pieces on the grid and combine them to make them more powerful before collecting them. The only catch is when an enemy is also on the grid they can also collect the items. So it can be pretty tricky and easy to get yourself in trouble. You are only allowed to combine items during the day and then collect them at night. You need to get to level 6 on each level to be able to take on the final boss for that level.
