Just seen the Uber Lilith achievement yikes
At first I though that was only in Hardcore mode but apparently you can fight her in "normal mode"

What do you mean by random? I haven't started my hardcore character yet. Wanted to get a regular to 100 first.

On my way to my Diablo 3 plat, Hardcore mode made me want to toss the controller a few times... My first one died at lvl 34 and that did not bother me but I had another that died at lvl 55 and I was just sitting there looking at the screen in disbelief! But it was my Warrior at lvl 68 that really got me. I got hit with a HUGE lag spike and when everything caught up I was dead. I don't think I touched the game for 3 days... started up again after I was reading the Paladin was the way to go, I did and it was pretty smooth sailing and was shocked how easy it was... I then kicked myself for not doing the research first.

The biggest factor is which elites you roll- random. For instance- over all of my toons on D4 I got very unlucky and walked into a skeletal wall with the crossbows and an elite inside at around level 12 on rogue. 95% of folks likely done there- not too far but that has been happening with my 30 HC Sorc as well. I also saw a few HC deaths at 30 or for players around / grouped with Oops.

* 13-Jun-2023(#10)Man, I am having a hard time with my build, too many amazing options!
I recently got a 2h staff that gives 70% bonus damage to immobilized/stunned/frozen. It's insane how quickly I can take down mobs when stunned from my build (big focus on crackling energy/crits/stun) - elites die in 2-3 chain lights. I decided to add in Frost Nova (both as an enchant + skill), and it's pretty fantastic! The bonus damage for one, but also adding vulnerability on top of it.
Problem is, I have to give up a skill. That and I definitely prefer 1h/oh for speed and additional stats/proc's. Still, after comparing both for quite a bit of time, the 2h with the stun/frozen buff is just ... insane, nothing else drpos mobs as fast.
So giving up the skill problem, as of now, I dropped Ice Armor:
- Frost Nova
- Chain Light
- Unstable Currents
- Teleport
- Spark
- Chain Lightning
Thankfully, I have a couple different bubbles that pop with gear, but man, I miss Ice Armor for longer boss fights (haven't yet died though). So far so good, but I don't see a better path forward. Only other option might be to drop teleport instead, which feels insane as that's bread and butter!
Overall, this build feels insanely OP'd. I don't see any better alternative for now to take advantage of stun and frozen.
Just took down Ashava without getting hit, so maybe I really don't need Ice armor, hrm. I'm assuming this will all change as I get higher up ... currently L51.

13-Jun-2023(#11)I finally got a chance to play the last couple of nights, and I’m loving it so far. Right now, I have a Sorceress running a chain lightning/glass cannon build that is risky but fun and a Druid hardcore character with a storm wolf build.

You have to finish the story and then beat the capstone dungeon that opens up once that is done.

It has distinct acts, and you will know when you complete one. There are 6 acts and a prologue. And the story is very long compared to past games. It takes like 30+ hours.

The strange thing is, when you first get to Kyovashad it gives you the first quest for Act 1, 2 and 3. The three story quest it gives you. And you can do them in any order I guess, but the ones for act 2 and 3 are a bit higher level. So if you do them out of order I'm not sure how it handles it. If you open your quest log on the map screen it will tell you what act the story quests belong to.
And after you finish an act you get a small cut sense with a voice over from one of the characters.

* 15-Jun-2023(#25)Maybe everyone else already knew this, but I just realized that you can’t resell Diablo IV, because the disc acts as a license for one account:
https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/12qt5m3/.... Super disappointing. If I had known that, I would have bought it digitally (and probably also have waited for the price to come down). I love the game, but that’s so shady that there’s nothing on the box to indicate that you can’t sell or trade it used.

* 15-Jun-2023(#26)^^ I don't know if I believe that? The physical console edition doesn't even come with a cd key. The comments in that thread seem to suggest the OP is wrong, has it been confirmed you can't give a PS5 disc to your friend and have them pop it in their own PS5 and play?

15-Jun-2023(#28)That's good to know. I couldn't find anything to refute it.

17-Jun-2023(#32)Hitting Butcher mid dungeon on my first HC character in the original beta was super memorable, I was level 17 and managed to get out with like, 3% health left. He was tenacious, and I had to backtrack through 2/3rds of that fudging dungeon to hit the exit. Would have done better but foolishly I thought my homebrew build was gonna make it, two potions in I realized my folly

I'd be down to do this sometime. I don't really go to the PVP zones at all. I tend to play with cross play disabled as the game performs better that way. And xbox has the smallest pool of players compared to PC and PS5, so there are not many people ever there anyways.
But I could turn cross play on and we could knock out the 5 kills each and get it done with. I think we can party up go to the zone, then un-party. That way we are guaranteed to be in the same map instance. Then find a spot away from everyone else who may be there and do the kills.

20-Jun-2023(#41)I’d like to do this too. I’m Bleed_DukeBlue on PSN
