Is it unusual for such an anticipated title that's only several months away to not have much known about it?
I don't usually follow games along their pre-release stages, so perhaps a lack of info is standard.
Personally, I'd rather a lack of info when it comes to games that I plan on playing. I don't care for spoilers, or to watch every trailer that comes out.
I'd have thought there'd be more out about it though. But again, I don't usually follow along with the progress of game development.

They could give hearts the ole Zelda way too if only for nostalgia feeling. Be nice while fighting a crew they drop a heart when they die that you touch and instantly get instead of going in a menu to use etc, they drop all kinds of stuff so maybe they should. How about both ways.
I cut grass but dont seem to get rice like BOTW mainly grasshoppers etc. I would take some Link’s Awakening flavor.
Something I dont like is the Blood Moon on Repeat, I dont mind the moon but I have seen the cutsence enough wish we could turn most cutscene off. If I can skip ahead, give me the option to not load it.
I'm sure there are quite a few out there. Just search YouTube for "totk duplication 1.1.2". The only one I've used is the free frozen meat when auto-building a meat stick in a cold place. I've seen another that requires positioning yourself at exactly at -156 deep and shooting fused arrows upwards.

Missing a few memories yet, but...
After one of the earlier memories I was expecting Zelda to turn into a dragon. When I saw the light dragon for the first time it confirmed it for me (didn't know about the master sword at that moment), so I was waiting to see how desperate times got. Sans 3 memories, I was a bit taken aback at just how easy they all just rolled over, and how all it took was Ganondorf to get 1 light crystal thing to completely change everything. Like how weak are the others without the crystal if Ganondorf's power leap frogged them by that much? Again I don't have the whole picture and I need to rewatch the memories in order, but some serious DragonBall Z crap going on in this one.
As for hearts, the game could easily drop hearts that auto-filled 1 empty heart per baddie defeated without the need for eating. And I'm not talking cartoony hallmark hearts, I'm talking ones that would fit in with the rest of the drops.
On my 3rd temple (Water). I reached the temple before I progressed the required quest line so trying to activate the temple gave me an error. I created a Zonai device using 3 fans and a cart with control stick along with a big battery from the closest sky island that was pretty low in the sky. It took forever to actually reach the temple lol.
Once I actually progressed the quest line and had to shoot the arrow in a very specific way, it took me forever to find the "droplet". I was about to give up and look up how to do it when I found it via the appropriate angle lol.
Of the temples I've done so far (Wind, Lightning, now Water), I've enjoyed the path to this one the most.
I’ve got 12 hearts and two stamina bars and the master sword. I’m thinking of getting the stamina bars before getting more health. Anyone who beat the game, is this enough health? I’m far into things

I think that’s what I’ll do. It just seems more satisfying and challenging (combat wise) this way. Climbing and gliding is too fun to not have full stamina. You get the full glide suite yet? So awesome

Yeah the sage is awesome for sure. I didn’t get the set until I got the full map explored and all the sky towers but it’s still awesome. The earlier the better for exploring. It’s also an extremely easy set to get if you look up a quick guide but to upgrade to second level you gotta hunt down some aerocuda a bit
Just got the last Kolton reward, and he says he wants the rest, that he can sense them. That there are 93 more! Fudge that. Really dislike the emphasis they placed on caves. A couple dozen or so would've been cool, but well over 100 with maybe a third of the shrines being hidden away in them is starting to take away from my enjoyment of this game. Got about 30 shrines left, half are in the sky and the other half are likely in caves.
Also the lightning temple felt a lot more like a traditional dungeon than the wind temple or lava temple, but despite that I wasn't a big fan of it. Not sure if the issues I had were glitches or intentional, but I lost my helper quite a bit and had to either warp or run back to the save point. Never had to do that with the other two.
Yah I'm digging the caves too, personally. The "more" factor doesn't really hinder my enjoyment of the game. I suppose that sort of thing could frustrate somebody trying to do EVERYthing in the first play-through, but considering you don't need to beat every shrine or max out your stats to beat the game, I just look at it as more content at the end of the day. When I beat the final boss and grow tired of playing the game, I'll feel somewhat comforted in my $70 purchase knowing that there will still be plenty of content to explore and complete when I eventually pick it back up down the road. I'm not gonna do what I did with BOTW and beat every side/shrine quest or unlock as many shrines as I can before getting to the end, because that made for some empty sessions when I tried to play it again after.
Is there a way in TotK to have more than one thing on your sensor at a time? I know you can't in BotW, but I wasn't sure if there's something new in TotK that would allow it. I'd really like to have shrines and koroks on my sensor at all times.
I don't mind the caves persay, it's I hate the fact that they shoved what seems like a third if not more of the shrines in them, and in doing so they removed actual shrine content. Just like BotW had gobs of shrines and the lackluster divine beasts instead of complex dungeons to fill the large world, TotK robbed many shrines of actual content in lieu of running around looking for caves. Find a cave, break through 8 Boulder sets, fight a couple enemies in a dark/hazy/slippery environment, enter the shrine... here's an item you likely don't need and a light orb. That's been mostly what I've been finding over the last 30+ shrines.
It's not about doing everything, but I am doing all the shrines, temples, collecting the armor I want and completing the story. I've already completed the map and filled my battery (not going for the bonus as of now as I don't see a benefit). Nuts to koroks, kolton, and any other grindy efforts to say I 100%'d the game., same as BotW (which I did twice, and would probably do a third time before replaying TotK). Thinking about it, I don't know if there is anything that would make me replay TotK tbh unless something changes. I currently see it as Minecraft, rather than replay it I can just open up my existing file and puts around.
I absolutely love the caves. The more the better. I like that they hid away armor and shrines in them. The only knock on caves is that after collecting my final item from Kolton, the bubbul gems seem worthless. I know I will never get 100% of the caves, so it takes away from my desire to fully search the cave once I've found any big items that may be in there.
I refuse to do any dup glitches. I have about 20 diamonds (I make my money from making and selling meals/elixers). My biggest concern is going to be getting enough star fragments and dragon parts. I think I have only picked up 5-6 star fragments so far, and dragon parts have been very stingy as well.
Whoever mentioned the Lightning Temple earlier, your sage/companion is human at that point and limited to her own abilities. The puzzle you need to solve is how to get her to the area so she can use her ability to help you. It's actually a great temple.
My opinion on the 4 temples: Wind - Best lead up, good temple (albeit too easy) with a fun boss Fire - Worst lead up, best temple with a great boss Lightning - Weak lead up, great temple with a fun boss Water - Decent lead up, horrible temple with the dumbest boss I can ever remember in a Zelda game
I'd rank them overall: 1. Wind 2. Lightning 3. Water 4. Fire
I thought the water boss was pretty lame too, and for as hectic as the battle was, it was too easy. Compare that to something like the wind temple boss, which was also easy but a lot more straight forward, it doesn't hold up. I liked the build up with the "water drop" quest though, thought actually getting TO the temple with the lowered gravity was fun, and love Sidon. I think the closest to "disliking" something from the game's story was the build up to the fire temple, the "drug rock food" gimmick seemed like a kid wrote it, and I honestly didn't find the temple all that memorable. The boss WAS fun though. I thought the Lightning temple was probably my favorite experience as far as the temple itself goes, and I dug the boss battle a lot, but, in my book, nothing beats the build up to the wind temple and the sense of scope facing off against that boss. That, plus the fact that I dug the temple being inside a giant airship, and that one easily clears the others for me.
And then of course there's...
...the fifth "temple" in the depths. That one felt a lot less like a temple though, even compared to the other 4, considering part of it took place in 4 separate structures and then the last bit of it was a trek through the depths themselves. If I had to put it in the ranking, I'd probably put it after Water and above Fire.

That was me. She popped in all the time in her human form. Anytime I flew beyond her reach she popped in. Just not in 1 area.
I really didn't like the lead into the lightning temple sans the one fight mainly cause I liked the design of the enemy (other than that the fight itself was meh).
Favorite build up: Water temple. The quests and platforming were great.
Worst build up: Lightning temple. Quests were meh and finding the temple was boring.
Favorite temple: Wind temple. Puzzles were decent and the sage seemed more useful.
Worst temple: Water temple. With the wind sage to assist, it felt way too easy to navigate.
Favorite boss: Lightning temple. Battle was challenging enough and the use of the sage helper was very relevant.
Worst boss: Wind temple. Really didn't need the sage for this one, just a good position and some patience.
Since it didn't come up in any of the lists above: Fire temple was decent, but not very memorable. Boss battle was probably the easiest of them all. Build up was not great, but it was the only temple to include the depths.
Just took on the coliseum and had a blast beating them. Definitely a major highlight of the game for me. Didn’t cheese them either.
As far as the temples I’d probably rank them like this
1. Lightning 2. Wind 3. Water 4. Fire
I hated everything about the fire temple. The lead up, the character and the temple itself was just not fun for me. Wind and lighting are close as I preferred the theme of wind, but lightning was just a lot of fun overall. The water temple was cool and the boss was actually fun but it felt too short
Sage I use the most Wind. Sage I use the most while fighting Fire would be Lightening but she is no wimp and goes hand to hand combat. Have to run her down. Sage that seems to get in the way Fire, dude is always in the bidness. I launch him sometimes just to get him away. Sage I go out of my way to use to save his feelings, Water. All Sages are important.

I got all three stamina wheels and beat all of the temples before getting any extra hearts. I'd much rather the game be a little harder than not be able to climb something I want to climb.

That's what my kids are doing, but they have no upgraded armor or elixirs. When it comes to boss battles I make them try them 5 times before handing it off (if they make no progress).
I beat all of the colosseums today. I have most of the armor, although I still have a long way to go to upgrade most of it. I have around 130 shrines and probably close to 90% of the depths unlocked. I still have a ton of side quests to finish. I feel like I'm getting to my end. I am still loving every second of it, but the rest might become really grindy.
I have 8 shrines left in the sky islands, but I'm 6 hearts shy of max health. I read you can't get max stamina and health, but I thought it maxed out at 38 hearts with full stamina. I'll be at 36 hearts after the last shrine. I believe I got all temple hearts, and I got the one in the depths. Were there any others tied to side quests?
I have all major armor sets sans rubber. I'm missing a ton of the bonus armor from previous games. I duped to max out most of them as there was no way in hell I was going to do it legit. You'd have to kill dozens of each of the biggest baddies to fully upgrade many armors. If I recall correctly one armor set alone required 35 of the same Gleeok part. No thanks.
Patch 1.2.0 out. It patched out some of the dupe glitches from my understanding, like the autobuilding meat in cold weather.
General Updates - By starting the game from within certain articles released on a specific Switch News channel (accessed via the HOME Menu) players can receive a number of in-game items.
- Depending on the state of gameplay progression or the location in which the data is reopened, there may be cases in which the items cannot be received.
Additional Fixes - Fixed an issue where players could not progress beyond a certain point in the main quests “A Mystery in the Depths” and “Secret of the Ring Ruins”, the side adventures “Hateno Village Research Lab” and “Lurelin Village Restoration Project”, the shrine quest “Dyeing to Find It”, and the side quests “Village Attacked by Pirates”, “The Incomplete Stable”, and “Seeking the Pirate Hideout”. Downloading the update will allow players to proceed past that point.
- Fixed an issue preventing fairies from appearing under certain conditions when they originally should have appeared.
- Fixed an issue preventing the meals provided by Kiana of Lurelin Village from changing under certain conditions.
- Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience
Anyone know how exactly that "open game from the News Channel articles" thing works? I don't really understand the language they used.
Think I'm gonna go for the ending this weekend and finally beat the game. I've been trying to put it off but I just feel the drive to finally finish it, what with Pikmin 4 and some other games coming out in the coming months.
> Anyone know how exactly that "open game from the News Channel articles" thing works?

They did this with BotW. A new post in the TotK news may have something like a recipe for an in-game dish. That post will also have a button to launch the game. If you launch the game from that post, a treasure chest (IIRC) will pop up in your game with the ingredients for that recipe. Suff like that.
I have been ready to beat this for weeks now, but I don't want it to end.
Zelda is waiting for me in the final spot at Hyrule Castle.
I just can't bring myself to do it. I have 141 shrines, only around 5 lightroots left to discover, most of the armor, hundreds of koroks, even about half of the extra bubbul gems (which I have no intention of completing). I've beaten every major boss and mini boss including all of the colosseums. I still need hundreds of items to upgrade my armor, but I could play for another 100 hours and not get all of that stuff. It's time, but I don't want it to end. I highly doubt I will ever play this one again. I played BotW through twice. I've already put in around 170 hours on this one, so I could never start over.
Question, what is your end game goal? Is anyone trying for 100% (I don't even think it's possible)? What is your personal 100% (if that makes sense)? I want all shrines, all lightroots discovered, all armor, full hearts, and enough koroks to fully upgrade my inventory.

All shrines (6 shy), towers (done), light roots (done), full stamina (done), max hearts w full stamina (4 shy... I think I'm missing 2 somewhere aside from shrines), all temples (done), all armor with environmental perks (2 pieces shy), upgrade said armor, all mini bosses with unique drops required for armor upgrades, dupe 30 of all strong/rare fuse items I have after everything else.
I'll pass on Koroks/maxing out item slots for now; never did that in either BotW playthrough. Also bubblegems. My personal opinion is "completing" this game is to unlock all maps, and finish all shrines/temples.
So exploring the sky islands I hover biked and glided to a distant high island. My reward? A King Gleeok. Figured now is as good a time as any to take on my first Gleeok. Tough fight. Blew through a ton of Keese eyeballs
