I miss pc gaming (been a few years) but I don't miss the cost of always upgrading. Cirrent rig is going on six years old and it's time... This actually seems promising.

There are better emulation options out there than buying this thing.

Wouldn’t buy it for that but I have one - and if they get vita running on it somehow that’s going to look really nice.

I must be dumb ... but since Portal, my PS5 doesn't like to always wake up remotely. When I would play from my PC, never had this issue.

Turned off HDMI-CEC thinking that may be the problem, nope.

Frustrating.

I have only had this happen a couple times... Not sure why.

Anybody fussing with anything new?

I have my sights set on Ayaneo pocket S depending on price. Also been looking at Ayaneo pocket air, Odin 2 base and to some degree retroid pocket 4 + (preordered one but then later canceled). I’m mainly looking to enhance my GC/PS2 and Switch experience.

I picked up the rg405v a few weeks ago and it’s really been a great little device. I think I’m gonna hold on to this one. Been playing dq8 (about 9 hours in). GC/PS2 emulation is hit or miss and most require some tweaking. It also play switch but really only light weight games.

What say you?

I have been enjoying my steam deck oled for a few months now. Have been taking advantage of sales, cheap keys, and emulation. Just a fun machine to mess around with.

no since I bought the lenovo legion go. So I won't be getting anything in a while. I set up the Anbernic RG ARC but I got crashes in Sega Saturn on vanilla firmware and even custom firmware. I have started over shining the holy ark about 4 times (playing up to 5+ hours each time). I'm about to just buy a damn saturn again.

Why not just run it on lego? The 405v barely runs Saturn I wouldn’t expect a lower spec model to do very well.

Maybe. Would be a nice way to play my ps2 games portably too. Just have to spend some time setting up the front end.

I picked up a Portal during the last big drop and have been using it for FF7 Rebirth side content. On my mesh network, I only had one serious dropout that required a reboot, but otherwise, performance has been pretty solid.

My primary gaming monitor is at a desk, so this is much more comfortable for quick or casual gaming sessions, as long as I'm not too bothered by the lag.

I’ve been using the portal pretty exclusively for several weeks. Never an issue and I have mid tier internet. I too use mesh so maybe that’s the sweet spot. I love the portal, the only thing I would change is to offset/angle the screen for better viewing.

I gave up using the portal for mini games - a few of them even the slightest lag and it’s a huge disadvantage. Also the dual sense pad is so much easier to use. If you’re having trouble with the timing based games consider trying going back to that.

I haven't bothered with mini-games on the Portal for that reason. It's fine for open world areas and side quests.

Does anyone need an ROG Ally case? I got one of the Skull & Co ROG Ally Grip Case Bundles, new but open box.

I was planning to get an ROG Ally and decided against it. I think I'm going to wait for the inevitable Steam Deck 2.
