Ah yes, the Lucy Ricardo method. Works every time.

26-Jan(#5)Was having issues with my Portal for a little while. Was not able to use it in my apartment at all without constantly being disconnected from my PS5. Tried bringing it to my parent's house and trying it on their much faster wi-fi, still could not establish any sort of usable connection. My apartment wii-fi has always been god awful, so I figured the Portal was a good excuse to revamp my home network. I was able to use my Portal in my living room with absolutely 0 issue and playedd a few hours of Mafia II while watching the Knicks game

for what though? I mean if it's for switch/ps4 etc I don't mind if someone doesn't have a PSP and wants to physically own it for their switch or something.
I don't buy much from LRG but when they hit on a game I want I appreciate their existence. As far as P3. I'm waiting for P3 Reload hopefully on switch 2.

Would be interested in PayPal or a PS5 disc version bundle (haven’t owned a PS5 yet). PM if interested.

29-Jan(#10)the Steam Deck chiak4Deck app was updated recently for Remote Play for PS5 and it's even better than the last update. Not sure why anyone wants a Portal. You can even user Bluetooth devices on it.

Confirmed. I need to figure out how to get the touchpad working, but other than that, it was a fairly painless process.

"T" on the keyboard is the TouchPad. So map something to "T". Escape is the Playstation button

Three times today I was on my phone when the notification popped, and I pay for the premium heads up whatever service. Every single time I click it I am stuck in the queue at Best Buy and it never gives me the option to check out. It's getting annoying
loztdogs
31-Jan(#27)That’s a bummer. I was able to grab one Monday, I didn’t subscribe to the premium service. I also had to wait in the que but eventually I was prompted to log in and confirm my account… then redirected to the payments page.

I've gotten the prompt to login + 2FA (SMS verification), 3x time total now, but then it says no longer available.

3-Feb(#37)Been fussing with the Portal for a few hours now. I’m digging it overall. I primarily play in my living room where my nodes are at. Had a couple connection issues where the connection would drop completely and I had to reconnect. I also had a couple issues where waking my ps5 from sleep I couldn’t connect. The ps5 was prompting me to push the ps button on the DualSense which bugs since I don’t want to have to go mess with the ps5 if I’m in the other room.
The portal’s screen is really nice and games look great. A few stutters here and there during game play but not really a big deal. Overall it’s been a good experience.

4-Feb(#40)@ErickRPG set up Chiaki on your legion go. If it performs better then that might help you decide whether to keep it or not.
That’s what I’m going to do. I plant on testing the Chiaki remote play later today myself.

Yeah I was gonna try to figure out what windows program is best for remote play. So Chiaki it is then?

4-Feb(#46)I have a deck and two different docks. I got the jsaux dock initially before the official one came out and then the valve one. I’d def just get the jsaux as it works just as well and in fact the official one has issues with certain tvs while jsaux does not.

5-Feb(#47)My PlayStation Portal Haptics are noisy even set to weak. Scratching, scraping, clicking noises (not vibration) when I’m playing games like Madden (to be fair I haven’t played much else yet). I’ll have to try a few other games to see if it continues.
Those that have a Portal, are your haptics noisy? Does what I describe above sound normal?
Shane12m
5-Feb(#48)That does not sound normal at all to me. I feel the haptics but don’t hear them. Try a different game, maybe it’s something with madden?

I tried a little bit of spider-man 2, maybe like 10 mins. But in that 10 mins I did6 experience it at all. Going to try nba 2k24 here when I have more time.

I have an Ally and I play docked about 30% of the time. Some of those mini pcs have Oculink, which is a great external GPU solution that barely loses any performance. The Ally has an option, but it's a proprietary version of Oculink and the only GPUs that work are their pricey XG mobile boxes. Just adding that to the conversation in case you want to upgrade the power at all.
I love my Ally and it replaced my gaming laptop fully. I dock it on the road and it performs great. PS3, Switch and Xbox 360 all run really well on it, every game I've tried at least. I can't speak to the Legion, but I've heard it's been getting consistent updates so it's probably doing pretty well. I love the VRR on the Ally screen, if I was streaming from my PC more I'd probably go for the Legion for the higher res screen. I just rarely see the need as the Z1 Extreme is enough to run pretty much anything well.

yeah trigger resistance should not make any noise at all really. You have a slight defect. Up to you whether you want to go through the process of return or repair. But know you do have a defect.

Agreed, I’m gonna fuss with it a bit more and decide. Probably repair since their still a bit hard to come by.

Seems like the second, black thicker skin would be better. I have a similar (first photo) cheaper Chinese cover on my g cloud and it’s not great. It’s slippery when wet - so if you lay your hands on it definitely be livin on a prayer.

From my experience, Samsung buds are sticking to whatever device you first connected it to, you have to manually disconnect from that device first, before it can pair.

A good thought, but tried, no luck.
It's been a lifetime since I've tried to pair a Bluetooth device without an interface. Both the adapter and buds are sitting in pairing mode but they won't connect to each other. There no way to drive through a device.

14-Feb(#68)Finished the last 20ish minutes of Rebirth demo on the Portal, and yeah, I'm still pretty impressed with it.
While remote play well works very well on my PC, it definitely plays better on the Portal, at least it feels like it.
Anyway, glad I went back to it. Also, these grips are pretty sweet:

Theoretically it can. You’d just be at the mercy of hotel wifi- and your ps5 needs to be in sleep mode so you can turn it on. 5 mbps is the requirement.

15-Feb(#74)Hotel wifi is awful. Definitely not getting 5mbps.

No, I used my Portal at my sisters house and that's roughly 300 km away or roughly 186 miles away and it performed just like I was at home.
Hotel wifi can be tricky and if it requires you to go to w website to authenticate like a lot of public wifi you are out of luck. if you have a good data plan I suppose that is a work around. American Data plans seem to be much more generous then up here.

I actually found a way around the authentication part so that wouldn't be the issue. So it would really depend on your home wifi and the hotels wifi. Probably a dumb question, but while your using this does it turn the PS5 on? I assume no one else could use the PS5 to watch stuff, but they could use the tvs apps to watch things, correct?
