Awhile back we had some crazy wind here. One day the powering flickered many times. So I went out to look around and one of the power polls snapped. Somehow it landed in a fashion that I still have power. Currently waiting on them to come out and replace it.

Internal backup memory card - Built-in, full size, backup memory card installed in the system. Auto detects when a 4mb ram cart is inserted or another memory card is present in the cart slot. If this is something you might be interested in, let me know. Ideally the original creator is working on an internal modification that includes a memory card and 4mb ram expansion. The problem is that it looks like the prototype is not auto switching, so you would have to install a switch to disable one or the other as needed. That would render the cart slot pretty much void, as the pins are quite temperamental after time.

This would be my preferred setup

-Region Free Bios
-Fram mod
-Internal memory mod (hopefully internal 4mb ram in the near future)
-Phantom chip
-Satiator

Best of both worlds, disc and SD options at the same time. I know the PseudoSaturn covers a lot of bases, but I prefer to keep that cart slot empty until absolutely necessary.

@Gypsy Yeah, the weather was pretty wild for a solid week and a half. Not enough to scare the racoons out of the cypress, but enough to lean the tree slightly over the house, lol. I got quotes for tree removal ranging from 2000-8500 for one darn tree. Granted, it is about 50 feet tall.

The cypress tree came down in 5 fairly large pieces. $650 DIY project. Scary as heck though, when a mistake will cost you your roof and make you feel like an idiot. Thanks to everyone that bought something to help with the project. No raccoons were harmed. It appears they left the day before when I was trimming the lower portion of the tree.

If anyone is having issues with their Saturn, I'm happy to help troubleshoot. I'm not an expert, but have worked on them for the past 2 years, so I've encountered most of the common problems.

Also, tiny update. Not terribly exciting, because I don't know if it's gonna work yet, lol. The pcbs just arrived for the internal memory card mod. Gonna make my first attempt tonight or tomorrow. If it is successful, I should be able to provide this service as well. Fingers crossed.

Attention all Saturn fans! I got the internal memory card mod working. Pictures available in the two links below. First link is solely my post. 2nd link has all the information to do this project for yourself. I will be offering it as a service for anyone that is interested.

This mod would be ideal for users that play games that take up a lot of memory, sports, rpgs, racing (ghost replays), that would like direct saving. If you plan on having a PseudoSaturn or Action Replay plugged in at all times, then this mod would not be recommended, as the system can only access one at a time. The mod does automatically detect when an external cart is plugged in, and will disable the internal memory card and switch to the external cart. It may still be a relevant mod for those that are using Fenrir, Phoebe, and Satiator as well.

As mentioned before, the ideal hardware, non ODE set up would have the following:
1. Fram memory upgrade
2. Internal memory card mod
3. Region free bios
4. Phantom chip (to play the fan translations)

This would enable a clean no cart on top look. If anyone is intrigued or has any questions, let me know.

I have a Saturn in need of a new PSU (maybe a new a motherboard (US Model 2); do you happen to sell replacement parts or take in broken onces to trade/fix?

Yeah, I hesitated to post everything because I usually need games to bundle with systems, but figured I could just pull it all if games start flying off in bulk.

It's too bad the Saturn didn't get more arcade ports of beatemups. I know several have been ported in collections lately, but I'm looking at Alien vs Predator and the other Capcom games of the time. With the 4mb ram cart, those could have been some pretty close to perfect ports.

Happy New Year! Removed some old listings. Possibly huge influx of Japanese imports coming in on Thursday. Everything from dating sims, rpgs, fighters, and some shmups.

Do you offer any options with an ODE? I've been thinking of getting a Saturn, but don't want to deal with using physical discs.

I have one current set installed with the Terraonion MODE. I think most people either go with the Fenrir or the Satiator. It all depends on your preferences and what kind of budget you have.

Least expensive to most expensive before tax and shipping.

1. Fenrir -140 (sd, replaces optical drive)
2. MODE -260 (SD or SSD, replaces optical drive)
3. Satiator -260 (SD, plug and play for the most part, can still use optical discs)

So you're pretty much adding the ODE + the cost of your SD card size of choice to the price of a starter set. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. There are always some pros and cons to each choice. But the fact that the Saturn has multiple options is great for the consumer. Not mentioned because I am unfamiliar with how they work:

I don't know anything about hardware and fpgas, but I imagine the Saturn architecture would be challenging to reproduce accurately. One thing that is a possible hindrance is the 2 video processing units. This is cited as the main reason there isn't a hardware mod yet for hdmi for the system yet. Not saying it can't be done, but seems to be quite the task. Even the Polymega scrapped fpga for the Saturn even though they were touting it as a feature early on.
