Didn't see the previous thread, and with weather changing, we'll see how long this one lasts.

Wings on sale for $2.88/lb (rolls eyes that that is now a good price), and found a recipe online that looked like something I wanted to try as a base. Mistook baking soda for baking powder. D'oh! Those were some salty/bitter wings. They looked good though. lol

There's another thread?

We started making our own beef jerky. It's so much more amazing than anything you can buy and cheaper obviously. Other than that I'm still rocking Hello Fresh, and trying to do better meal plans for lunch instead of fast food.

There been multiple food/cooking/grilling threads come and go over the years.

Jerky is one of my favorite things to do on my pellet smoker. Get rump at $4/lb and I can make jerky at ~$0.50/Oz with real smoked flavor. Good stuff.

I like Alton Brown's recipe but I made my own with fresh ginger and it's sooo good and spicy and sweet. We buy round roast (bottom or whatever is on sale) trim the fat, cut to sizes, marinate and bake in the oven at 170 for 3-4hrs. Oh man.. complete ecstasy.

I always talk about this soup because:

-I typically don't care for soup that much but am shocked how much myself and my family LOVE it, especially the next couple meals

Lentil Soup. I've probably already lost 90% of you. Yeah, it sounds gross but it's amazing. I watched it being made on Barefoot Contessa/Ina Garten's show and for some reason made it several years ago. My family gets excited when I say I'm going to make it (it takes about an hour and a half and one hour of that is to let it simmer(this is important...don't skip it!)

I actually love me some Lentil soup. Great protein and fiber too! I totally forgot to make some this winter... will have to remember when it gets cold again.

I like lentil soup too! I also like to make minestrone soup, orange chicken (no deep-frying required), and chili.

There's this bakery in the neighborhood that makes a fantastic zucchini lentil soup.

They make other soups too, and those are good, but the zucchini lentil is next level. I wonder if they'd share the recipe.

Thank you for that...I never thought about putting zucchini in it. Try that recipe! I bet it's same.

I wanted to add: serve with some garlic bread and it's a perfect thing to dip into!

I love lentils.

Recently I've been making red lentils regularly. I was inspired by this video: (from the lentils.org YouTube channel)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdSnjuwadSA

He gets a little fancy, but basically just saute some onions then add red lentils, 3x that of water, and spices. It's mush, but tastes great and it's healthy and easy to serve over rice (though I often just eat it as is). Sometimes I put sausage in it.

I also like these pre-made meal bags (1 minute in the microwave): Madras Lentils or Peruvian Lentils
