Not a horrible deal.

Just used it to grab Kirby’s Return to Dream Land™ Deluxe and Luigi's Mansion 3.

i know this isn't the first time its come around, but i really don't see this as a value...

i just went through my extensive wishlist and there are only 7 games on there that are valued at $60. every single one of those i can get on ebay with zero effort/research for under 50 except Kirby.

this would have to be 2 for $80 for me to even consider this. but i guess those that are digital only might feel otherwise.

Exactly my thoughts. I prefer physical to digital, unless the digital copy is substantially less. A $10 discount per game isn't enough to warrant me going digital.

This is, however, an excellent deal for those who are digital only, and interested in pre-ordering some upcoming releases.

Even if I'm not buying them, I am glad Nintendo brought back these vouchers. Definitely a nice come-up for those who prefer digital yes

This for me as well.

This deal is decent now that Walmart doesn't immediately discount new games to $50, but I'll pay $10 more to have physical.

Oh I prefer games physical as well ... I hate that I'm buying so much digital - just for Switch. For my kids, it's 100x easier. I don't want their grubby ass dirty hands messing with the physical games, haha.

I've already had to rebuy multiple games to make the conversion, and it kills me.

Being that the digital games don't go on sale nearly as much as physical (which is insane), this deal seems relatively worthwhile.

Simple solution, don't let your kids use your Switch. Get them something exclusively theirs, like a Game Boy or a Wii. Teach them the proper way to handle games before moving onto current generations. That way when you allow them some Switch time, they appreciate it more.

That sure beats double dipping on games laughing out loud

The way I see it, if I'm getting Zelda for $60 on day one anyway, why not get Kirby for $40 as well?

As long as you planned to buy digital anyway, I would agree with you. The biggest issue with the voucher is the fact that it's digital only. If the voucher also applied to buying physical copies of Nintendo's online store, I would also buy the voucher for both Kirby and Zelda.

LOL... Excluding TotK is just dirty. It's not even that great of a sale as the majority of these games go on sale for $40 or less a few times a year.

Cmon now, it's Nintendo ... $40 is a rare event! haha

Yeah, I was surprised when I didn't see TotK on here. I was tempted to get another set of vouchers, but nope.

So I redeemed one for a game out now (Luigi's Mansion) and pre-bought the new Kirby. Both show this ... yet, it's still allowing me to use a voucher. I haven't tried it yet, as I fear it may cancel Kirby, but I wonder ...

Probably because you used 1 on a pre-order. They're allowing you to use it elsewhere instead. wink

While I can totally see how this would be a good deal for an early adopter who doesn't really care about the whole "digital versus physical" discussion, I'm totally with @bogo, @Frank, and @KCPenguins on this one. I've got enough of a backlog that I never feel the need to buy or play a video game anywhere near its release date. Thanks to my delayed gratification, I easily pay fifty, twenty-five, and sometimes even fifteen percent of MSRP by buying used through either Craig's List, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or GameStop...and that's the physical cart in hand, mind you: no digital downloads for me! smile

TotK is now available on voucher. Being that it's $70, makes this a better deal.

Buy $100 in credit from Sams Club, Costco, or Pathless Cookies for $90

So I've now cashed in 4 of these ... only one for a game that's out now - which worked fine.

The other 3, all prebuys, don't show up anywhere in my transactions history.

Not confident in Nintendo on this working properly, but we'll see.

Pretty sure I read can have vouchers preloaded think up to 8. One nice thing about Digital on Switch is Loading on two systems.

4 Games I want coming up but only 1 I want Digital (TOTK) Have BOTW Digital (hard copy on WiiU) and enjoyed it digital much more for as many hours that I put into it. Just not sure on the other game. Kirby and Pikmin I need to hold in my hands smile

Are they redeemed directly in the eshop for a game, or are they redeemed for an e-shop code?

Also, if I buy it on my account, can my kids play it on their account on their Switch if their Switch has my account on it and I'm not playing it on my Switch? Do they have to be online the whole time to do so?

Nope. Nintendo hasn't allowed this since the Wii. On the eShop website there is an option to share your wishlist but it's not like sharing an Amazon wishlist where people can buy you what's on it.

Maybe Kirby and Pikmin for him are quick play and trades, where-as Zelda he knows he will want easily accessible. wink
