I've been watching MissMikkaa play it. Seems like a crafting pokemon game with some village stuff. I'm not personally into those genres but if you are it looks like a good game. It's only in Early Access too.

I'm playing it on GP (didn't now it was behind the PC/steam version). Its okay. I'm not into survival games. So I started a world with custom difficulty/settings, and made it so that stuff is minimized. And I'm having a decent time with it. But there doesn't seem to be any combat yet. I'm just collecting pals and building stuff. I haven't figured out how to fight things (other than the odd fight to capture a pal).

I guess people who like these games really love this one. Its sold over 4 million copies in 3 days. And it has broken over 1 million current players as well on steam. I wonder how long this will last. People seem to be digging it. And its a game preview, not a full release. I wonder if this means the dev will actually support the game now and it will see a full release.

So I gave this more time, and I'll admit this is actually pretty good. Even for an early access/game preview alpha thing. It has issues sure. But its charming and relaxing. And the exploring is what is keeping me going. I can see why so many people are liking this game.

@Shane12m You guys need to catch a Tanzee and buy the tech tree pal thing for it. It gives it a freaking machine gun. And it runs around shooting the crap out of everything. Its absolutely hilarious (and does insane damage). You can find them starting at round level 4-6. They are the green monkeys. I love my Tanzee.

This is crazy. Second highest played (concurrent/max players) game of all time on steam. Just surpassed CS:GO today by breaking its 1.8M concurrent players with 2M. The only game to ever have more is PUBG with 3.2M. It currently has 1.2M players. Its also the current most played game on GP. Bonkers. And its sold 8M copies in 7 days. This is an early access game. I'm baffled. Yes, its fun. But, WTF is going on.

The PlayStation CEO has even talking to the Devs on social media about bringing the game to playstation due to its popularity. Because people keep sending him tweets asking him why it is not on PS5, lol.

I gave up calling them Pals and just refer to them as Pokemon lol. Same for the “pokeballs”

Early Access games - easy pass

I kind of want to find a deal on a Series S or something... I want to try this, or maybe wait for the inevitable PlayStation release. The more I hear the more it interests me.

For an early access game it’s pretty complete and has tons of content. I never play early access games either, but I made an exception for this and have been having a blast (not trying to convince you, just pointing out that it’s still great despite being early access)

Its the first game I've ever seen where the dev has straight up said we butchered the xbox/gp pc version and it is not the full game as it is on PC. Missing audio. Missing graphics. Missing mechanics/features. And its not from being behind updates issue either, like some games have on xbox. Its a completely different build of the game. And this is because of the series S. The X and PC version have to deal with the dumbed down version they had to make for it to run on the S. Its so stupid.

I’ve been playing it on Game Pass and I haven’t had any issues. Of course I haven’t seen the PC build, so I can’t compare. But it’s been really fun! I love building up my base and placing pals in it to work since each one has different skills that can contribute to what’s being done in the base. If you have a berry field, assign a water pal to water it for you. If you need trees cut down, assign a plant type pal to harvest wood for you. Yea it’s definitely clear that it’s a game built on several different mechanics that have been in other games, but putting them all together has added up to a good time.

This game is definitely more fun than anticipated! BotW meets Pokémon with some tower defense.

Oh, nice, didn't even know that was a thing! Stl pretty early on. Level 13, haven't taken down the Pikachu on roids yet. Gonna build a second base by that tower and start leveling more.
