Tekken 8 comes out next week for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Windows. I don't think we have a Tekken thread around here, but the Mortal Kombat fans are out in full force, so maybe we have some other brawlers floating around that might be interested.
Is this on anyone's radar?
I played the crap out of the previous Tekken games. The original convinced me to buy a PlayStation instead of a Nintendo 64. The sequel was one of two games I picked up when I bought the console. Tekken 3 was the first game I ever pre-ordered. In other words, while I suck at fighting games, I go way back with this franchise. I admire a game that has the balls to give one character lasers, another character a sword, and diddly squat to everybody else.
I platinum'd Tekken 6 twice and played the crap out of the PSP version, despite not liking it nearly as much as its predecessor, but Tekken 7 was a blip. I platinum'd the game but rarely looked back at it. It's been so long that, when I picked it up again earlier in the week to refresh my memory and replay the story mode, my first thought was "Oh damn, I forgot Akuma was in this."
What does everyone else think? Anyone picking up Tekken 8 next week?
