I have a copy of the "Complete Clear Guide" for Super Mario 64 that was taken down from the internet archives by Nintendo last year. I cannot find ANY other copies available for purchase or trade on any platform.

The game is pretty good for mobile Mario, and makes some cool additions/changes that I'd like to see in future games. Bonus points go to the fact that Invincible Mario pulls coins toward him and Mario will do a forward roll when he lands from a great fall, which can defeat enemies. The Black Coins are tricky to collect and the Remix 10 mode lasts far too long for my tastes, but it was satisfying beating this game after all this time. There's also a customizable Mushroom Kingdom on the main screen, but that screams, "we heard customizable hubs were popular in mobile games" and not much else. I don't recommend spending $10 on this, but the Super Mario Bros. movie deal of $5 was definitely worthwhile.

I had a productive long weekend on the gaming front (which makes it a rather unproductive weekend by most other metrics, but whatever). I used it as an opportunity to take a break from Final Fantasy XVI and get the jump on July's Games of the Month.

I hit 100% on the original Wii U release of this - it was the first game I picked up for the console, after all - but barely touched the Switch re-release when it came out. Frank gave me an excuse to remedy that, and I used warp zones to power through the game. The memory of seeing Bowser's scales in HD for the first time is still up there with my biggest gaming memories, despite its relative recency.

The console versions of Bionic Commando were voted in as July's Retro Game(s) of the Month, but I added the arcade original to the list because of how readily available it is; it's only $2 in the latest Capcom collection, for example. It's not quite as awful as I remember - it does include the Bionic Commando theme in the second level - but it's really terrible, with a bionic arm that's really just a glorified stepladder and a glaring lack of enemy management techniques. It's quick, though, and you don't lose progress by continuing, so it's no more painful than a dentist appointment... which is exactly how Capcom wants their games compared, I'm sure.

There's no Metacritic score for the arcade original of Bionic Commando, but considering other RTT folks have spent the morning posting about how awful the game is, I think it's a reasonable qualifier for "You're Winner".

Probably the game I've been looking most forward to replaying since Frank deployed his mission, I don't think many game announcements can match the sheer joy I felt when I saw the trailer for the original New Super Mario game for the DS. When the game dropped, I basically just sat in my office hunched over my DS like a hermit, loving every second of the throwback gameplay. This weekend was the first time in ages that I'd played through it since that original romp, and while it's definitely a breezier, simpler experience than its younger brothers, it's still a lot of fun. And I love seeing my level progress on the lower DS screen.

While I didn't play Luigi U to death like I did Mario Bros. U, it's still a fun game in its own right with quick, snappy levels and enough changes to make it feel like a discrete game. The New Super Mario series has a reputation of being too easy, but Luigi U is an obvious exception. On my breezy playthrough (thanks, warp cannons), a handful of levels nearly depleted my entire life total. In fact, I think it's the first time I've seen what the actual "Continue?" screen looked like. Bowser was ultimately no match for Green Mar...uh, I mean, Luigi, though, demonstrating once again that, while it's not easy being green, green is good.

Rounding out this holiday romp and hopefully making up for playing through the "wet turd" arcade original, I played through the NES release of Bionic Commando. Despite being a massive fan of the Game Boy release (which is notably different from the home console release) and having played through the Re-armed release on the Xbox Live Arcade, this was my first time playing through the semi-classic NES release, from which most of the game's limited legacy stems. The mechanics and graphics aren't quite as crisp and snappy as the Game Boy version, but it still rights all of the arcade game's wrongs with selectable weapons, Spider-Man-like swing chaining, and excellent - albeit unconventional - platformer gameplay. And that soundtrack rocks, too.

Five games and two platforms isn't bad for a long weekend, but I'm still way behind where I was a year ago. Oh well. Continuing on with the month's themes, I'll probably be revisiting either New Super Mario Bros. Wii or 2 next to get 100% in those titles, as well as scared cow Bionic Commando for Game Boy; hopefully capturing a playthrough this time around. I'm missing Final Fantasy XVI, but I'm a big enough fan of July's Games of the Month that I'm happy to make the detour.

Agree with all of this. I'd also add 3D Mario. I know they announced a new 2D Mario game, and it was unlikely they'd announce both a 2D Mario AND a 3D Mario, but still...it's going on 6 years since Mario Odyssey. If you look back at how far apart the 3D Mario games have been, 6 years is an unusually long gap (with the exception of 64 to Sunshine).

We're still getting more waves of courses for Mario Kart 8, so 9 isn't coming any time soon. That will probably be on the Switch's successor. Tears of the Kingdom just dropped, so I definitely don't see a new 2D Zelda coming out anytime soon, and probably not the Ages/Seasons remakes either (although I do believe those are coming eventually). I'm still hoping for another Pokemon Let's Go, but that would be announced in a Pokemon Direct, not this one.

REALLY hoping for a new Mario game, it's been too long! I'd be thrilled with 2D or 3D!

I'm tired of looking at all the stuff laying around my house in piles that I need to go through and list, so here's the first crack at many things. Too many to list, but I'll try and list a few of the main ones:

THQ's WCW and WWF games *n64* - As much fun as GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark were with friends and family, they were always secondary to these games during weekend visits.

NHL Hitz 2002 - One of my nephews and I had an epic undefeated streak in this game until the day we all stopped playing. Unfortunately none of the following games in the series were as good as this one, so we didn't get to continue that streak, but that's what I'll always remember this game for.

Mario Kart Wii - Mario Kart 8/Deluxe is nine years old now and even with the new content being added (which I bought but haven't played beyond Wave 2 I think) I think you might have to combine the time I spent in the Wii U and Switch versions to surpass the amount of time I put into the Wii version by itself.

Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2 - A few months ago I unpacked my Wii U just to play some 100 Mario Challenge for old times sake and have been revisiting it off and on since then. Super Mario Maker 2 released in 2019 and I still play it consistently. As for SMM on 3DS, let's just pretend that version doesn't exist.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf - At last count a couple years back I had over 8,000 hours invested into this across multiple versions of the games from different regions. I never came close to that with the Switch version because they removed a lot of the fun multiplayer stuff and this isn't really a game that stays fun as long if you only play it solo.

Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West - I still need to get around to buying the DLC for Forbidden West, but besides that I 100% completed both games, the expansion for the first game, platinum trophies, all that stuff. I don't know how much time combined I spent on the games but approximately 0 minutes of it did I ever feel bored.

This is not exactly a 1:1 remake of the original, and I'm glad, because as good as the original game was, they fixed all the things that needed to be fixed and this is damn near the perfect 3D action/platformer now. Basically they gave this game the treatment that Nintendo desperately needs to give Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, instead of releasing them with no improvements like in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

The gameplay runs at a smooth 60fps (only when played on PS5), which apparently was added in via patch 5 years after the game's release. The cutscenes though are still 30fps, and you absolutely notice that after playing the game at double that. Now having played through this it makes me want to watch that R&C movie.

Disney Speedstorm {} 7/10
I played this via the 2 hour free trial offered on the PS+ Premium tier and I might actually end up buying this if I catch it on sale. I had low expectations going into this because it's by Gameloft, who is most known for their mobile games and the Asphalt series of racing games (some of the Asphalt games are alright, but look and feel so low budget in comparison to other racing games like Need For Speed because they are built for mobile first and foremost). Now that I've played it, I will say God bless Gameloft for giving the world a decent Disney kart racer after that utterly mediocre one Rare released on Nintendo64 back in the day.

So first off, the graphics are pretty good. The tracks are pretty well designed (I especially like one that is in black and white, like the Steamboat Willie era). The music is alright too. In the Mario Kart series I don't particularly care for the soundtracks that much but some of the music in this game hits me in the nostalgia bone. And most importantly the controls are solid. I feel too many kart racers don't control as well as most of us veteran Mario Kart players are used to, but this one gets it.

The tracks are designed around Disney movie franchises, rather than just the characters racing across the US (how boring) like Rare's N64 game I mentioned above.
There's a lot of playable characters in here (with more promised in the future) to unlock and upgrade, and get this, each one has their own special power-up to use during races, a feature a lot of Mario Kart fans have been wanting back in that series for years.

Don't get me wrong, this is far from a "Mario Kart killer" and I am not claiming it to be one, but it is a nice breath of fresh air, you just have to accept the fact you will be grinding a bit if you don't want to pay microtransactions (it's Gameloft after all). I swear kart racers are one genre where actual good ones don't come around too often. There's probably a dozen bad ones for every good one that gets released, thanks to indie devs stinking the genre up.

Here is a list with the pricecharting value as of this morning, because with 200ish items (many of which are very much low end) I'm not going to individually research each one, carefully comparing trends and recent ebay sold listings. In cases where that is lower than the actual value, I will honor the price if you don't want to haggle and just send an offer. If it's too high for you (which it should be, you should try to pay at least 15% lower than pricecharting for this stuff, otherwise just go to ebay), then send me a lower offer.

Haggling is the purpose of this thread, so if you are going to do it, do it right.

Questions like "How low can you go on X game?" are not in the spirit of haggling. My answer to that is "These prices are the lowest i could possibly go, i have a family to feed, you know?" Even though that is a complete lie. I may even quote higher for you for not knowing how to haggle properly. A sucker is born every minute right?

If you want a lower price, start with a number. Something like "Would you do $X shipped for this game?" is way better.

Prices do not include shipping by default, but they might if you ask nicely.

There are a few oddball imports that don't have pricecharting values. I've left those blank because I think there would be zero interest in them. But if you DO want them I will add a price.

Note: Pop'n Tanks is higher than price charting because l also have the official art book.

Also, some items are Greatest Hits, Player's Choice, etc. If that matters to you, I offer my condolences if you forget to ask before buying.
