Topic Would you be loyal to one videogame brand?

I've seen alot of videogame collection videos and I am even a member of some FB groups that encompasses all of retro gaming/collecting, or those just love gaming and just buy there favorite game for whatever platform they want it on.

Still others collect just for one particular family or brand ie Nintendo only, Sony Playstation only XBox only.

To me being focused on one particular brand/family like Nintendo or Sony would make collecting easier in the sense that your only focused on one brand/family of gaming. Then again you may be missing out on some awsome games that are system exclusives.

I'm mainly into jrpgs so Sony Playstation has always been "my Nintendo" per se.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

I prefer Sony or PC. Nintendo for certain things. The last Xbox I owned was a 360 and I didn't care for it. The games offered haven't really ever tickled me. Now whatever they have, I can pretty much get for PC anyway. But yeah Playstation has been my jam since the first.

I'm with you there! The playstation brand for me has always been my nintendo. I always admire someone singularly focused on one brand/family. I think that's pretty hard core and just cool.

Seriously....I don't know how a gamer could take JUST the offerings of one platform and NOT feel like they are missing out on something. I think saying PC is a cop out if the game came out first on console, like God of War.

Don't get me wrong: I think it's perfectly nature to have a preference...like someone who REALLY enjoys Nintendo's direct offerings or the OP's love for PS JRPG's...but if money or time are not barriers: you are going to want to diversify and if you take a game that was first released elsewhere: you are demonstrating that. And that SHOULD be a normal thing as no platform has everything for everybody.

I'm not a collector and rarely play a game more than once or twice. I'm also the guy that eventually buys every system to play some of the exclusives I couldn't. I personally prefer Xbox over everything, even though their exclusives line-up isn't nearly as great as Nintendo or Sony.

If I had to be loyal to a single brand, I would have to go Nintendo. This is especially true if we're talking about first-party published games. They have a massive catalog and some of the best games that can be played by all ages.

I just don't see any need for anything on Xbox. I don't feel like I'm missing anything. It's just different types of games. Just like Nintendo is more aimed for kids/family I guess. There's word that the next Elder Scrolls would be Xbox exclusive (I think it is that) but it will be on PC because Xbox is Microsoft, so again no loss here to me, even if the PC version is delayed by a year I won't care because we'll be playing it for 10+ yrs....
