If you haven’t done either DLC it’s about a full day of stuff. There are also trophies for final fantasy difficulty - so you could start a new playthrough. Skipping story it zips by.

I just finished FF16. There's something special about punching a god with a giant fist.

You made me curious. So I watched that scene, which led to watching a bunch of footage from the game. Each video giving me more questions.

Clive is Rogue, crystals are bad, and a god needs killing. Pepper is some super anime Kaiju battles and superfluous geography lessons, and you more or less have FF16.

laughing out loud

Just saw this. Would have saved me alot of watching time :)

But it was entertaining what I watched. Many cool scenes.

Yup. I bought the game the year it came out and played it for a bit every morning before going to high school.

Edit:

Hey look that's me the second one

It really was. All of the main cut scenes were pretty awesome. Unfortunately the game kind of suffers from FF15itis where you get a sense that it was released before it was finished. I would recommend most people Youtube the main story rather than play the game. I'm not sure I ever played another RPG where it literally never mattered what I found in treasure chests.

Are you saying it was very heavily story based, with less emphasis on the stats/level of characters?

Got FFVI for Christmas 95. Still one of my favorite games ever.

I remember getting FF 2 / IV with SNES launch- and really being hyped for the release of 3/6. I had already played the previous US releases but launching the SNES with FF2 and a very small selection of other titles was a big factor in making the series more popular in US.

No other FF has had the impact of 2 and 3 for me- not even close. 7 was a major event but it certainly didn’t feel the same.

Could agree more. Still to this day, some of my most fond gaming memories. Playing those back then, was something special.

3 was great. Thoroughly played that one.

@nonamesleft It's more that the RPG stuff I like wasn't really present in the game. There was no point in exploring maps. Nothing of interest would be on them until a side quest specifically sent you looking for something. Late game I just went straight to the "go here" markers on the maps. I never replaced my accessories since everything I picked up was so specific (reducing cooldown on a specific skill by maybe 10%). None of the crafting materials mattered other than the ones you get from story progression or hunt rewards. It's hard to explain really. It felt like the RPG systems were included because they had to be. Combat (and figuring out specific skill combos) was a lot of fun, though.

The gil, exp and AP (skill points) whatever it’s called are the only accessories I used even through FF mode.

I used the auto-Torgal, XP, and AP accessories the whole game. I never had a reason to spend gil.
