Not a super hot deal but if you needed to dump some fodder, time to do it is now.

50% bonus trade in for games
$20 bonus for older consoles(Switch, X1X/S, PS4)
$40 bonus for Series X/S and PS5

https://www.gamestop.com/trade/

I'll prob be bringing in the extra 1X I have just to get rid of it. Maybe a couple choice games with decent TIV

Just buy the right games trade them in make money. I am going to do my Gamestop run and hopefully make $500 more credit. Samurai Showdown Switch is easy profit. Pay $12.99 make $25. Tons of games oddly enough make 50%-100% returns.

Well, that's if you were lucky enough to pick it up for 12.99. It's much pricier now.

Would be cool to utilize your method, but it doesn't sound so simple (though for all I know maybe it is).

For instance, how do you know what to buy and when?

If you don't value your time, sure. Go 'flip' some GS credits.

For most people, I'd wager you'd just trade in whatever you have on hand that would otherwise be more work to 'sell'.

I traded in 3 Switch games today that I had on hand, Animal Crossing, NSMB and 3D All Stars.

Got 35, 35, 64 respectively. I'm happy with that.

Nice values, especially on the 3D All Stars yes

Was this in person at a local store?

4 hours for $100-500 in profit isn't the worst investment. Ya back in 2017 it was easy to make $800 profit a month for 4 hours of work but times sadly have changed.

I buy from one store and trade into another on the same day. Once you get an idea of what games are good you can generally find them quickly.

And requires you to live in an area with more than 1 GameStop. From my closest, the next one is probably a 30-45 minute drive each way.

I swear there was a list posted earlier, but looks like it was edited out. Perhaps some values changed.

Forgot to bring in a HDMI cable yesterday and they wouldn't take the One X. Decided to keep it though. Even as a 4K Bluray player, it's fine.

They're paying out less than $150 for it. Meh.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I don't usually trade stuff in, but with the 50 percent bonus it can make it worthwhile. You get another 10 percent if you have the pro or whatever account.

I traded in a stack of whatever, no real value switch and xbox games for about 90 bucks. And in their tiny, maybe 20, game section of 360 games they somehow had Driver San Fransisco and NFS Most Wanted 09, so I was pretty happy.

Gamestop offers you the same price for trade in for cart only as it does for complete games right?

Does the 50% get added on at the store? Looking at the website and the values don’t seem that high.

Yeah its 50% above whats listed. So a $20 trade in becomes $30 for instance. Its still not the best for many items, but for some it can be good

I’d honestly want the one x over the S by far.

Just a heads-up, the 50% extra is on the base trade in value. So if you are a Pro Member you are getting essentially an extra 40%.

Why 40%?

Because Pro Members already get an extra 10%.

It's 10% on top of the 50%, so it should be 60%

Here's a sample:

Yeah, looked at my receipt as well. Numbers confuse me. For some reason in my head I had the extra 50% as being based on the Pro value and when it wasn't I took off 10% lol.

You were in the ballpark. Assume base value of a game is $10. For pros that's $11.

Non-pro member now gets $15. This is a 50% increase.

Pro member now gets $16. $11---->$16 is a 45.45% increase over what you get any day as a pro member.

Or simply 60% of the base value.

Of course. The idea was to compare the % increase for pros versus non-pros.

That unfortunately varies by state. I know because I'm in a state where they still charge tax when using trade credit. It's doubly strange because there is a carve out for trading in vehicles to where you only pay sales tax on the difference.
